Job summary

Centerra Gold Inc. is seeking a Principal Metallurgist for the Goldfield District Project in Goldfield, Nevada.

This senior role serves as the site technical authority for metallurgy, leading Metallurgy, Refinery, and Assay Laboratory teams and ensuring safe, compliant, and optimal gold processing operations across heap leach, ADR, and laboratory functions. You will work closely with Operations, Maintenance, Geology, and Finance to achieve production, recovery, safety, and cost objectives,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in metallurgical engineering or a related field.
• 12+ years gold processing experience, including heap leach/ADR operations.
• 5+ years of leadership at superintendent or equivalent level.
• Experience with metallurgical accounting, gold inventory estimation, reconciliation, and month-end reporting.
• Working knowledge of assay lab operations and QA/QC practices.
• Familiarity with International Cyanide Management Code, MSHA requirements, and refinery security.
• Willingness to work extended hours, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the site technical authority for metallurgy, leading Metallurgy, Refinery, and Assay Laboratory teams to deliver safe, accurate metallurgical performance across heap leach, ADR, refinery, and laboratory operations.
• Lead compliance with MSHA, environmental permits, and ICMC within metallurgy areas; own cyanide management processes.
• Maintain metallurgical accounting and gold balance; assist with month-end closing and site reporting.
• Provide direction on ADR and refinery performance; set metallurgical operating targets with Plant Operations.
• Lead the metallurgical testwork program and design reviews for key process areas.
• Coach and develop direct reports; manage performance and succession planning.
