Job summary

Centerra Gold invites applications for a Senior Mine Engineer based in Goldfield, Nevada. You will lead mine planning, design, and execution for a safe, efficient heap-leach operation.

Reporting to Technical Services, you will coordinate with geology, maintenance, and processing to optimize production and resource recovery, while mentoring staff and interfacing with the contractor to meet targets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of progressive mine engineering experience.
• Open-pit mining experience required.
• Gold mining experience preferred, ideally heap leach.
• Experience with short- and medium-range mine planning and production scheduling.
• Engineering designation such as P.Eng preferred/required depending on jurisdiction.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and mentor a Mine Engineer, assigning work and supporting development.
• Develop and maintain short- and medium-range mine plans and production schedules.
• Prepare and optimize open-pit mine designs (pushbacks, phases, haul roads, ramps, stockpiles).
• Develop detailed mine schedules balancing ore, waste, equipment, and processing needs.
• Collaborate with Geology to incorporate grade control and ore boundaries into plans.
• Provide daily/weekly technical support to the mining contractor and optimize productivity.
• Support ore control, stockpile management, and ore routing to heap leach facility.
• Evaluate haulage requirements, equipment utilization, and material movement.
