Job summary

Jobot seeks a Sr Metallurgical Process Engineer in Knoxville, TN. You will drive day-to-day quality system implementation, including hold/release decisions and retesting, while leading process improvements and cross-functional collaboration with operations and supply chain.

Qualifications

• BS in Metallurgy, Materials Science or Mechanical Engineering.
• Co-op or internship in metallurgy-focused role preferred.
• Operating tensile and bending test apparatus to verify specifications.

Responsibilities

• Implement quality system daily, including hold/release decisions and retesting.
• Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate with operations, engineering, and supply chain to standardize best practices and reduce waste.
• Lead projects on new product development and continuous improvement.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, customer specifications and regulatory requirements.
• Identify opportunities for cost savings through process, quality and safety improvements.
• Communicate customer requirements and manufacturing capabilities across departments.
• Use data analytics to monitor trends, identify improvements, and report KPIs.
• Coach and mentor QA and production teams; promote accountability and excellence.
