Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Senior Metallurgical Engineer to lead asset integrity, reliability, and materials engineering initiatives across LNG facilities, refineries, petrochemical plants, and other oil and gas operations. You will act as a technical SME for material selection, corrosion mitigation, failure analysis, and fitness-for-service evaluations to ensure safe operation of fixed equipment and piping.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgical Engineering or Materials Engineering.
• 10+ years in LNG, refining, petrochemical, or oil and gas facilities.
• Strong metallurgy and materials science knowledge.
• Experience with corrosion mechanisms and mitigation.
• Failure analysis and root-cause determination experience.
• Welding metallurgy knowledge and its impact on integrity.
• Familiarity with API, ASTM, AMPP/NACE standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide SME in metallurgical and materials engineering for LNG, refining, petrochemical, chemical processing, and oil and gas facilities.
• Lead material selection for fixed equipment, piping, and plant infrastructure.
• Develop and implement corrosion mitigation strategies.
• Perform detailed failure analyses and recommend corrective actions.
• Conduct fitness-for-service evaluations for safe operation or repair decisions.
• Support fixed equipment integrity programs including inspection planning and documentation.
• Provide technical support during turnarounds and maintenance activities.
• Interpret and apply API, ASTM, AMPP/NACE standards in assessments.
