Job summary
Baker Hughes in Houston, TX is seeking a Senior Metallurgical Engineer for Completions & Well Intervention to act as the SME for metallic materials selection, corrosion evaluation, and metallurgical performance across fishing and intervention tools.
The role leads cross-functional teams, mentors junior engineers, interfaces with customers and suppliers, and drives material specifications, heat treatment, coatings, and corrosion mitigation for downhole equipment in oilfield applications.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in metallurgical engineering or related field.
- 10+ years in metallurgy, corrosion engineering, or materials engineering in oil & gas.
- Experience with downhole completions and fishing tools.
Responsibilities
- Lead metallurgical and corrosion engineering for completions and well intervention product lines.
- Select materials, advise on heat treatment, welding, coatings, and corrosion mitigation.
- Mentor junior engineers and interface with customers, suppliers, and internal partners.
