Leidos LLC in Huntsville, AL is seeking an Additive Manufacturing Materials Engineer to balance metallurgical analysis with AM technology recommendations. You will shape materials choices, post-processing plans, and design for additive manufacturing across aerospace-grade alloys.

The role targets candidates with 5+ years in metal AM (or advanced degrees) and hands-on experience with LPBF, DED, or related AM processes. On-site work in North Alabama is required.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor’s degree in materials engineering, materials science, manufacturing engineering, or a related field from an ABET-accredited university with a minimum 3.2 GPA.
• 5+ years of experience in metal additive manufacturing (AM), or MS with 2+ years, or PhD with 1+ years.

Aufgaben

• Perform metallurgical and materials analysis for additive manufacturing programs and provide engineering recommendations.
• Advise on AM technology selection and material trade-offs considering capability, cost, lead time, post-processing, defects, deformation, and material properties.
• Develop plans and layouts for AM equipment and capabilities.
• Act as resident AM expert across multiple metal AM technologies across program teams.
• Involve in design for additive manufacturing (DfAM).
