Abbott in Sylmar, CA is seeking a Senior MES Developer to design, implement, and support MES solutions that enable manufacturing operations, traceability, and regulatory compliance across facilities. The role covers MES application development, integrations, and cloud deployment considerations, with a focus on validated environments.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in IT, strong FTPC experience, and hands-on expertise with Java, C#, REST/SOAP, and SAP integrations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years IT experience; 2–5 years MES experience.
• Strong FTPC or equivalent MES experience.
• Proficient in Java, C#, .NET, Spring, and enterprise integration.
• Experience integrating MES with SAP and other applications.
• Knowledge of Oracle and SQL Server databases.
• Experience with PLCs, OPC, and industrial automation.
• Experience in validated, regulated environments; SDLC and CSV.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes and traceability.
• Security-focused software development practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain MES apps for manufacturing and traceability.
• Configure FTPC applications and related MES tech.
• Build integrations between MES and SAP, LIMS, PLM, and QA systems.
• Develop REST and SOAP services and event-driven integrations.
• Interface MES with PLCs, SCADA, and automation devices.
• Develop Java, C#, and web apps for plant floor.
• Create Oracle and SQL Server data models and reports.
• Support deployment in on-prem and cloud (Azure).
• Collaborate with engineers and QA, document designs.
• Perform root cause analysis and incident investigations.
• Mentor junior developers; enforce SDLC/CSV/compliance.
