Job summary

Living Spaces is seeking a Senior Merchandise Planner in La Mirada, CA to drive sales and profitability through strategic merchandise planning and open-to-buy management. You will partner with Product Managers and cross-functional teams to develop assortments, forecast SKU performance, and optimize inventory investments.

You will lead AI-driven forecasting initiatives, manage vendor relationships, and mentor junior planners while aligning with multi-channel retail objectives and annual business

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in merchandising or related field with 7+ years of retail planning experience.
• Proficiency in MS Office and strong Excel; Alteryx/Tableau a plus.
• Experience planning for multi-channel retail including eCommerce.

Responsibilities

• Lead pre-season merchandise planning and open-to-buy management.
• Develop merchandise plans, SKU forecasts, and inventory strategies.
• Analyze product, pricing, and inventory performance to identify trends.
• Drive AI and automation initiatives to improve forecasting accuracy.
• Lead category expansion and sourcing initiatives for better availability.
• Develop scenario forecasts and risk mitigation for peak demand.
• Monitor category performance and deliver regular data-driven insights.
• Facilitate weekly/monthly reviews with cross-functional partners.
• Manage inventory flow, purchase orders, and supplier coordination.
• Mentor Planner staff and collaborate with Merchandising, Stores, Marketing, etc.
