Job summary

Gentle Monster in Los Angeles is seeking a Merchandising Assistant to own inventory forecasting and planning across channels, translating data into actionable recommendations for assortment, replenishment, pricing, and visual merchandising.

You will collaborate with Retail, E-commerce, Supply Chain, Marketing, and Accounting, presenting insights to senior leadership while continuously improving forecasting models and exploring AI-driven tools.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of planning and buying experience in multi-channel retail.
• Bachelor’s degree in management, finance, liberal arts preferred but not required.
• Proficiency with retail math and foundational retail analytics.
• Strong forecasting and SKU-level forecasting ownership.
• Experience with BI tools and ERP systems (NetSuite) a plus.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain demand and inventory forecasts across multiple channels.
• Develop SKU level forecasts to support replenishment and buys.
• Analyze product performance to inform weekly, monthly reviews and planning.
• Align inventory plans with sales goals and business needs.
• Collaborate with Supply Chain to ensure timely PO delivery.
• Maintain product data, pricing, and PO information for accuracy.
• Use BI tools and AI-assisted forecasting to surface insights.
• Present analysis and recommendations to senior leadership.
• Continuously improve forecasting models and planning processes.
