Job summary

PowerSecure, a Southern Company subsidiary, seeks a Project Manager II to ensure safe, on-time EPC project delivery and adherence to budget and specifications. You will oversee initiation, production/procurement, scheduling and closeout, while mentoring junior staff and driving strategic initiatives.

Ideal candidates have a strong background in energy or construction, certifications, and experience guiding cross-functional teams through complex programs.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field with 6+ years in energy or construction industries, or HS diploma with 8+ years of construction/energy experience.
• PMP certification preferred.
• Experience managing multiple concurrent projects with budgets >$15M.
• OSHA 10 or 30 certification required.
• Knowledge of permitting processes and environmental compliance standards.
• Experience coordinating utility interconnection requirements and regulatory approvals.
• Mentoring junior project managers or coordinators.

Responsibilities

• Maintain safe and healthy work sites per company standards and legal requirements.
• Lead complex, multi-phase projects with strategic importance.
• Serve as primary point of contact for stakeholders.
• Develop and implement risk management plans and contingency strategies.
• Oversee project portfolio performance metrics and report to senior leadership.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across project execution processes.
• Lead post-project reviews and lessons learned sessions.
• Support business development by contributing to proposals and client presentations.
• Mentor and coach Project/Construction Manager I-level staff.
• Collaborate with finance and operations to optimize resource allocation.
• Lead permitting and interconnection coordination with utilities and regulatory bodies.
• Ensure compliance with environmental mitigation measures and safety regulations.
• Manage subcontractor selection, scope definition, and performance tracking.
• Oversee RFIs, change orders, and close-out packages.
• Maintain project documentation using Procore and other PM tools.
