Job summary

Gilbane Building Company is seeking a Senior MEP Manager to lead and mentor the MEP teams on multiple projects in the Columbia area. This on-site role partners with Project Managers and Project Executives to align regional and project-specific MEP needs.

You will oversee MEP-GMP preparation, document reviews, and value engineering while ensuring cost, quality, and schedule targets are met. Travel to job sites and training sessions may occur as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• 15+ years of related field experience.
• Experience supervising a large project.
• OSHA 30-hour certification.
• Ability to lead and mentor MEP teams.

Responsibilities

• Protects Gilbane and the owner from cost, quality, and schedule impacts.
• Coordinates with Project Managers and MEP staff to understand needs and assist each project.
• Oversees MEP-GMP preparation and accountability.
• Assists with development and implementation of the Project Execution Plan.
• Leads MEP document review, Value Engineering, and constructability with field staff.
• Owns buyout, installation, and testing of control systems across multiple projects.
• Establishes long-term client relationships for repeat business.
• Oversees MEP discipline and staff on simultaneous complex projects.
• Identifies staffing needs and assesses staff skill levels.
• Provides leadership in peer group activities and coaching.
• Fosters an inclusive work environment to motivate the team.
• Translates organizational strategy into team goals and outcomes.
• Collaborates with business development to integrate sales strategies and deliver client value.
