Job summary

Enterris Associates, Inc. seeks a senior-level Estimator IV with MEP expertise to support Educational facility programs in the Los Angeles area.

The role plans and prepares construction cost estimates, evaluates consultant/contractor deliverables, and provides independent estimates for change orders, extra work, and value engineering. The ideal candidate has deep MEP estimating knowledge and strong cost presentation skills.

Qualifications

• Ten (10) years minimum of recent professional experience preparing complete cost estimates for Type I, II, III, and V building construction.
• Bachelor's degree (BS/BA) in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Expert in Design-Build, Design-Bid-Build, and Job Order Contracting (JOC).
• Ability to perform estimating calculations in Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

• Plan and participate in the preparation of construction cost estimates for buildings and other structures from drawings, outlines, and specifications.
• Prepare estimates per design based on scope and building type.
• Conduct material takeoffs and quantity surveys for MEP systems (mechanical, electrical, plumbing).
• Evaluate cost-estimating deliverables for cost containment, accuracy, and completeness.
• Prepare fair cost estimates for contractor cost proposals for extra work.
• Compare cost estimates with contractor proposals to identify discrepancies.
• Develop scopes of work based on RFI/RFC answers and estimate detailed costs independently of contractor proposals.
• Evaluate quotes, bids, change orders, VE reports, and claims for accuracy.
• Perform special studies and prepare reports when contractor bids vary from estimates.
• Evaluate pricing documents and historical/vendor cost data to develop estimates and price recommendations.
• Compile and analyze data influencing costs (material, labor, equipment, profit).
• Visit sites to gather information for project estimates and prepare technical evaluations and memos.
