Job summary

Element Consulting, Inc. is seeking a Senior Estimator in Los Angeles to lead MEP cost estimates for complex buildings. You will report to the PMO Program Controls Manager and Lead Estimator, preparing design-based estimates and evaluating bids, change orders, and VE studies.

The role requires 10+ years in cost estimation with 5–7 years in MEP estimating, a related BS/BA, and strong analytical and negotiation skills. Salary ranges between $159K and $179K, with onsite work in El Segundo, CA.

Qualifications

• 10 years minimum recent professional experience in preparing complete cost estimates for type I, II, or III, and V building construction as defined by the State building code, including 5–7 years of MEP estimating.
• BS/BA Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or related field; substitutions allowed for education on a year-for-year basis.

Responsibilities

• Lead cost estimation efforts for buildings and structures; report to PMO Program Controls Manager and Lead Estimator.
• Prepare estimates per design based on scope and building type.
• Evaluate quotes, bids, change orders, and VE reports for accuracy.
• Conduct site visits and material takeoffs for MEP systems (mechanical, electrical, plumbing).
• Collaborate with PMs, engineers, and architects to identify cost-saving opportunities.
