Job summary

Marx Okubo is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer - MEP Consulting for our Denver or Southern California offices (Pasadena or Huntington Beach). The role offers a hybrid work schedule with two days in the office weekly, travel to project sites, and a compensation range of $135,000–$155,000 annually plus bonuses.

Qualifications

• BSME or BSAE with mechanical specialty and a PE license.
• 15+ years of experience designing large scale building MEP systems.
• HVAC and plumbing system expertise; knowledge of electrical and fire protection.
• Experience with codes, sustainability consulting, energy audits, commissioning.
• Strong communication, leadership, and project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead MEP design projects for commercial buildings.
• Perform energy audits, commissioning, and design reviews.
• Provide site assessments and travel to project sites.
• Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams.
• Ensure compliance with national/state codes and client requirements.
