Job summary

Marx Okubo Associates, Inc. is seeking an Associate Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Denver or in SoCal (Huntington Beach or Pasadena). The role offers a hybrid schedule with two in-office days weekly and travel to sites as needed.

The candidate should have a BSME/BSAE with mechanical specialty and 10+ years of experience in design and evaluation of large-scale MEP systems, plus HVAC/plumbing expertise and professional licensure (PE preferred).

Qualifications

• BSME or BSAE with mechanical specialty; PE preferred
• 10+ years' experience in engineering design/evaluation of large-scale building mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection systems
• HVAC and plumbing system expertise required; knowledge of electrical and fire protection systems
• Familiarity with national/state building codes; facilities engineering, energy audits, commissioning, sustainability consulting
• LEED or CEM certificates are a plus
• Demonstrated leadership and project management successes
• Strong communication, organizational and multitasking abilities
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Bluebeam, PlanGrid and Box

Responsibilities

• Conduct property condition assessments (PCAs) and feasibility studies
• Provide cost estimates for repairs or replacements
• Perform energy audits, commissioning, and system evaluations
• Manage construction projects and coordinate design efforts
• Interface with site personnel and clients, ensuring clear communication
• Travel to project sites as required
