Job summary

Turner Construction Company is seeking an experienced MEP Project Engineer to manage and coordinate mechanical and electrical systems on the Lima, OH project.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering and at least four years of relevant experience, with strong leadership, scheduling, and budget skills.

You will lead a cross‑functional team, coordinate with subcontractors and owner’s representatives, and ensure safe, on-time delivery within budget.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 4+ years of related engineering experience.
• Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems and their interrelation.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, organizational skills, and proficiency with computer applications.

Responsibilities

• Lead project team, subcontractors, owner’s consultants to ensure alignment and efficient system installation.
• Prepare and manage contract item lists to meet ROJ dates and schedule requirements.
• Participate in schedule updates and provide latest information for an informed schedule.
• Evaluate and manage RFIs.
• Manage budget including review, evaluation, and negotiation of all change orders.
• Supervise and mentor Assistant MEP Engineers.
• Co-lead MEP coordination with the VDC Engineer to ensure design and operations meet requirements.
• Prepare scope of work documents with clear division of responsibility.
• Collaborate with MEP Superintendent to resolve conflicts with site logistics and schedule.
• Co-lead turnover process including start-up, testing, commissioning and closeout.
• Conduct regular project walkthroughs with MEP staff to ensure contract compliance and proper submittals.
• Identify installation challenges early to enable proper planning and execution.
• Manage municipal and agency documentation for temporary certificates of information and system operation.
• Create and implement the quality control plan with the MEP Superintendent.
