Job summary

Turner Construction Company, Toledo division, is seeking an experienced MEP Engineer to oversee installation and coordination of mechanical and electrical systems on a Lima, OH project.

The role leads project teams, coordinates with subcontractors and owners, manages RFIs, change orders, and ensures schedule compliance. Bachelor’s degree in engineering and at least four years' experience required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and at least four years of relevant engineering experience.
• Technical expertise in mechanical and electrical systems and their interrelations.
• Strong leadership, verbal and written communication, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead Turner project team, subcontractors, owners' consultants to ensure alignment and efficient systems installation.
• Prepare and manage contract item lists to ensure ROJ dates align with the project schedule.
• Participate in schedule update meetings and provide the latest information for scheduling decisions.
• Evaluate and manage the processing of RFIs.
• Manage the budget including review, evaluation, and negotiation of all change orders.
• Supervise, coach and mentor Assistant MEP Engineers.
• Co-lead MEP Coordination with the VDC Engineer to ensure design and quality compliance.
• Prepare scope of work documents with divisions of responsibility for trades and temporary operations.
• Partner with the MEP Superintendent to resolve conflicts with site logistics and schedule.
• Co-lead turnover process including start-up, testing, commissioning and closeout.
• Conduct regular project walkthroughs with MEP staff to ensure work aligns with contract docs.
• Identify and inform field staff of difficult installation requirements for planning.
• Manage and secure municipal and agency documentation for temporary certificates and operation.
• Create and implement a quality control plan with the MEP Superintendent.
