Job summary

Gilbane Building Company seeks a Deputy Energy Marshall to define the MEP execution process, oversee all MEP staff, and potentially serve as project manager on predominantly MEP work. The role is site-focused with occasional office trainings and meetings.

You will lead with an inclusive, coaching mindset, drive priorities, delegate work, and measure progress, building high-performing teams and aligning with Gilbane values.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• 10-15 years related field experience.
• OSHA 30 hour certified.
• Or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Approves all MEP and commissioning schedules.
• Assists with the preparation of the GMP.
• Supervises MEP subcontracting strategies and creates scopes of work for MEP bids.
• Negotiates pricing and change orders with contractors and equipment manufacturers.
• Performs MEP constructability reviews of contract documents.
• Provides guidance and approves the MEP Contractors schedule of values.
• Defines best approach for MEP buyout.
• Ensures timely MEP coordination process (BIM) execution.
• Creates a project-specific MEP quality plan.
• Performs site inspections for MEP compliance.
• Establishes controls to correct negative commissioning trends.
• Communicates with the owner to align expectations.
• Trains direct reports on processes and tasks.
• Manages workload and performance of direct reports.
• Fosters a positive and inclusive work environment.
• Aids in communicating company strategy to reports.
• Collaborates with BD to align sales metrics with project deliverables.
