Job description

Senior MEP Cost Manager / Quantity Surveyor - Data Center Construction (Anticipated Opening)

Turner & Townsend is seeking an experienced Senior Cost Manager and/or Quantity Surveyor with expertise in Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems for a data center construction project. The role involves acting as the primary client interface, ensuring objectives are met through value-added cost management services.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Estimating and negotiating change orders, focusing on MEP systems throughout the construction lifecycle.
  • Providing cost estimates, planning, and presenting final cost plans for MEP components.
  • Reviewing and collaborating on MEP cost estimates with design teams and contractors.
  • Managing MEP cost data accuracy, communication with contractors and project managers, and preparing cost updates.
  • Leading negotiations on contractor and subcontractor pricing, and performing quantity surveying, cost controls, and change management activities.
  • Developing and updating cost plans, participating in value engineering, and managing post-contract cost variances.
  • Preparing financial reports, final accounts, and as-built cost records.
  • Mentoring team members and promoting company values and standards.

Project Experience: Preferably in data center construction or similar large-scale industrial projects, with extensive experience in MEP systems.

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related field; minimum of 6 years in cost management; RICS accreditation preferred.
