Senior MEP Cost Manager / Quantity Surveyor - Data Center Construction (Anticipated Opening)

Turner & Townsend is seeking an experienced Senior Cost Manager and/or Quantity Surveyor with expertise in Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems to serve as the key client interface, ensuring the delivery of a value-added cost management service.

Responsibilities include:

• Estimating and negotiating change orders during construction, focusing on MEP systems.
• Providing estimate and cost planning, including final cost plan presentation for MEP components.
• Reviewing and collaborating on MEP cost estimates with design teams and contractors.
• Reconciling changes and ensuring MEP data accuracy.
• Communicating with contractors and project managers to update MEP cost estimates.
• Preparing comments on MEP submissions and coordinating cost information.
• Driving engineering priorities based on MEP costs and resolving scheduling issues.
• Managing cost checks, valuations, and variance processes related to MEP systems.
• Participating in change control and cost impact assessments.
• Developing cost plans through the design phases and supporting value engineering exercises.
• Reviewing contractor pricing and leading negotiations for fair contract prices.
• Carrying out quantity surveying activities, cost controls, and final account negotiations.
• Mentoring talent and leading service delivery in line with company values.
• Utilizing internal software for financial management and ensuring compliance with SOX controls where applicable.

Project/Program specifications:

• Experience in data center construction or similar large-scale industrial projects preferred.
• Extensive experience with MEP systems in large projects.
• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or related fields.
• Minimum 6 years of relevant experience in cost management.
• RICS accreditation or progress towards it is preferred.
• Knowledge of procurement routes, value management, and engineering practices.
