Job summary

Golden 1 Credit Union is seeking a Member Service Specialist III at the Fresno State Branch to provide a high level of member service while handling transactional duties and product referrals. This non-exempt, on-site role supports daily branch operations and adheres to compliance standards to protect member information.

You'll mentor MSS IIs and MSS IIs, participate in coaching opportunities, and help members access digital banking channels while identifying their financial needs and solutions.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years of prior banking experience preferred.
• 1+ year as MSS II or teller preferred.

Responsibilities

• Processes and audits financial transactions including deposits, withdrawals, transfers, payments and general ledger entries while maintaining a cash drawer.
• Provides Golden 1 services to members, including cashier's checks, money orders, savings bonds, wire transfers and debit card issuance.
• Assesses members' needs while processing transactions.
• Identifies opportunities to help members with Golden 1 products or services and documents in EnAct.
• Identifies and reports fraudulent activity to management and Financial Investigations dept., per procedures.
• Assists in ATM/Teller Cash Dispenser operations and related tasks.
• May lead open/close responsibilities in MSS IV+ absence.
• Verifies signature cards in ECM and checks acceptance within limits.
• Maintains confidentiality of member and credit union information.
• Keeps knowledge current on Golden 1 products/services and teller procedures.
• Performs additional branch operations duties as needed.
• Opens deposit and specialty accounts (e.g., Roth IRA); matches member needs to solutions.
• Mentors and coaches MSS IIs and MSS I.
• Develops leadership through observation and training.
• Engages in consultative dialogue with members and documents in EnAct.
• Enrols members in digital channels (online, mobile).
• Refer home lending/investment needs to partners via EnAct referrals.
• Processes consumer loans and completes fulfillments when appropriate.
• Approves signature cards and audits loan reports; coaches to avoid errors.
• Provides approvals based on authorized limits set by Branch Manager.
• Notarizes member documents (e.g., certification of trust).
• Collects medallion stamp requests for MSS IV+ approval.
• Maintains knowledge of state and federal laws related to credit union compliance.
