Job summary

YMCA of San Diego County seeks a Sr. Member Services Representative to strengthen member relationships, answer inquiries, and guide people toward memberships and programs aligned with their goals.

The role emphasizes service, engagement, and accurate processing of memberships and scholarships. Based at Magdalena Ecke Family YMCA Gymnastics Center, Carlsbad, you will serve as Manager on Duty when needed, lead front desk operations, and support program enrollment and campaigns while working

Qualifications

• 2+ years of sales and relationship-building experience.
• Passion, enthusiasm and commitment to the YMCA mission.
• Enthusiastic personality to serve members, volunteers and staff.
• Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work as part of a team and develop harmonious relationships.
• Conflict resolution skills and sound judgment.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks with attention to detail.
• Experience with basic Windows-based applications.
• Basic math, grammar and spelling skills for transactions.
• Fingerprinting as required by policy; background check if offered.
• CPR/AED and First Aid certification (Adult and Child/Infant) within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Model YMCA values in all interactions with members, volunteers and staff.
• Monitor facility access and answer calls per policies.
• Engage with members to understand goals and offer assistance.
• Maintain knowledge of branch and Association programs to assist.
• Greet, interview and tour prospective members using engagement techniques.
• Process membership sales, upgrades/downgrades and renewals accurately.
• Process program scholarship applications.
• Implement and communicate membership campaigns and promotions.
• Build positive member relationships and support campaigns.
• Encourage and assist members with scholarship applications.
• Serve as Manager on Duty when senior management is absent.
• Process program enrollment transfers and overrides as needed.
• Respond to incidents with appropriate urgency according to the plan.
• Collaborate effectively with staff, members, guests and volunteers.
• Other duties as assigned.
