Job summary

YMCA of San Diego County is seeking a part-time Member Services Representative at Rancho Penasquitos to deliver exceptional customer service, greet and interview potential members, and connect people with the right programs. Qualifications

• 6+ months of sales and relationship-building experience preferred.
• Passion, enthusiasm, and commitment to the mission of the YMCA.
• Enthusiastic personality with the desire to serve members, volunteers, guests, participants and staff to create a culture of service within our centers.
• Conflict resolution skills, and ability to demonstrate sound judgment and initiative.
• Experience with basic Windows-based applications.
• Possess basic math, grammar, and spelling skills to complete transactions.
• Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time.
• Fingerprinting required by licensing; must pass background checks.

Responsibilities

• Model the YMCA character values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility in all actions.
• Educate members that the YMCA is a non-profit charitable organization.
• Promote membership and programs and serve as an advocate for the YMCA.
• Monitor access to facility by ensuring members check-in on arrival.
• Answer all incoming phone calls courteously and route calls appropriately.
• Engage in active listening to build relationships and assist members in reaching goals.
• Maintain knowledge of programs to communicate to members and participants.
• Greet, interview, and tour future members using cause-driven sales techniques.
• Process membership sales, upgrades/downgrades, and renewals accurately.
• Conduct member engagement and conversion efforts for inquiries and tours.
• Retention and communication efforts regarding debt collection and renewals.
• Process branch transactions with proper cash handling procedures.
• Build positive member relationships and support campaigns.
• Enter data accurately per data-entry procedures.
