B. Riley Securities, based in New York, is seeking a Senior Analyst (or VP-level candidate) to own and grow our MedTech, Diagnostics & Tools and Healthcare Services franchise.

You will lead coverage, develop evidence-driven theses, and collaborate across therapeutic areas with our biopharma franchise. You will build financial models and valuation frameworks for both mature and growth-stage names, mentor junior team members, and contribute to conference programming and investor events.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in equity research with exposure to medtech, diagnostics/tools, healthcare services, or enabling technologies.
• Authorship on published research, ideally including initiations of earlier-stage or platform-driven companies.
• Strong financial modeling and valuation capability across profitable and pre-profitability business models, including care delivery unit economics.
• Established industry relationships across the MedTech/Diagnostics tools and healthcare services ecosystem, or demonstrated ability to build them.
• Series 86/87 (or ability to obtain promptly; sponsorship provided).

Responsibilities

• Lead published coverage across MedTech, Diagnostics & Tools, and Healthcare Services, including initiations, earnings, and thematic work.
• Develop differentiated, evidence-driven theses on enabling technology platforms: precision diagnostics, AI-enabled workflows, tools and instrumentation serving drug development, and next-generation medical technologies.
• Cover specialty healthcare services and site-of-care models, including clinic-based platforms for specialty therapeutics administration, interventional psychiatry, oncology care delivery, and other treatment-setting businesses where drug and service economics converge.
• Identify and underwrite special-situation business models where valuation dislocations, structural transitions, or misunderstood unit economics create asymmetric risk/reward
• Own revenue builds, financial models, and valuation frameworks across both commercial-stage and earlier platform-driven names.
• Partner with our therapeutics franchise on thematic conference programming, and drive corporate access, non-deal roadshows, and standalone investor events within the vertical.
• Communicate views with speed and conviction around catalysts, in daily partnership with sales and trading.
• Mentor associates and contribute to a team culture built on rigor, integrity, and intellectual honesty.
