Job summary

Jefferies, a leading global investment bank, seeks an Equity Research Associate with a strong scientific background to support Biotechnology Analysts and the Senior Pharma & Biotech team in New York. The role focuses on analyzing drug pipelines, building financial models, and producing in-depth research reports.

The candidate will interpret clinical data, attend conferences, and communicate findings to management, sales, trading, and institutional investors.

Qualifications

• PhD/MD/PharmD in life sciences required or strongly preferred.
• 1+ years of biopharmaceuticals equity research or related experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Experience with clinical trial statistics/design is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Conduct proprietary research evaluating drug pipelines by analyzing preclinical and clinical data.
• Build and maintain financial models.
• Write research reports for companies under coverage.
• Create statistical models/analyses of clinical trials.
• Interpret industry and company news, patent law, litigations, and clinical data.
