Job summary

Trustmark is seeking a detail-oriented underwriting analyst to support pricing for level funded medical products. You will review applications, claims experience, and data to determine profitable premium rates while collaborating with underwriting, sales and operations to ensure accurate data and timely decisions.

The role requires a Bachelor's Degree or related experience, strong analytical skills, and proficiency with Excel and underwriting systems.

Qualifications

• Minimum requirements include a Bachelor's Degree and/or 2–4 years of related experience, or a High School Diploma with 4–6 years of related experience.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain underwriting decisions.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other underwriting systems/tools.

Responsibilities

• Underwriting Analysis & Pricing Execution – Review applications, claims experience, and data to determine premium rates for new business and renewals.
• Case Collaboration & Decision Support – Partner with underwriting, sales and operations to ensure data accuracy and alignment on case strategy.
• Documentation & File Quality – Maintain complete, accurate documentation of analyses and decisions.
• Tools, Data & Market Awareness – Stay familiar with underwriting tools and market drivers to support risk assessment.
• Development & Continuous Improvement – Grow underwriting proficiency through ongoing learning and applying best practices.
