Rochester General Hospital seeks a Medical Technologist Specialist to join the Newark-Wayne Community Hospital laboratory in Newark, NY. You will perform clinical analyses in blood, urine, body fluids and tissues with accuracy and timely turnaround, using diverse instruments and methods.

Competenze

• Minimum 2 years' medical technology laboratory experience.
• Licensed Clinical Laboratory Technologist.
• ASCP certification preferred.

Mansioni

• Correctly performs testing in an accurate and timely manner.
• Interprets and correlates clinical test results with patient history, diagnosis, and clinical condition.
• Communicates stat and critical lab results and prolonged instrument malfunctions to physicians and staff.
• Performance of QC, routine and advanced maintenance and analyte/instrument troubleshooting.
• Prepares reagents and maintains inventory with cost containment.
• Maintains knowledge of computer functions for ordering, performing, and reporting tests.
• Meets all regulatory lab requirements.
• Acts as key operator and technical consultant to technologists and students.
• Assists in development, validation, and training of new procedures/instrumentation.
• Assists with inventory management.
• Performs advanced maintenance and troubleshooting on minor equipment.
• Participates in regulatory preparation and audits.
• Contributes to QA/QM monitors and department projects.
• Participates in department/system-wide committees or projects.
• Coordinates LIMS database functions.
• Contributes to Laboratory Ambassador Program.
• Teaches in MLS program and lab rotations.
• Coordinates with MLS program administration and lab to develop curriculum and assessments.
