Rochester General Hospital in Rochester, NY seeks a Medical Technologist to perform clinical laboratory analyses and examinations in the Chemistry department, following approved procedures and turnaround times to assist physician diagnosis. You will work with a variety of instruments to support physician diagnosis and patient care.

This 40-hour-per-week role requires NYS licensure as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist (provisional license holders must obtain full licensure within 24 months).

Qualifikationen

• NYS Licensed Clinical Laboratory Technologist.
• For provisional permits, full license must be obtained within 24 months of hire.
• ASCP certification preferred.

Aufgaben

• Accurately performs testing in a timely manner.
• Interprets and correlates test results with patient history and diagnosis.
• Communicates stat and critical results and instrument issues to the care team.
• Performs QC, routine and advanced maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Prepares reagents and maintains inventory with cost awareness.
• Maintains computer functions for ordering, performing, and reporting tests; supports workflow.
• Assists in teaching within Medical Laboratory Science programs.
• Ensures compliance with all regulatory lab requirements.
• Takes on additional duties as assigned by the manager.
