Rochester Regional Health in Potsdam, NY, is seeking a Senior Medical Technologist in the Laboratory Services department. The role performs clinical laboratory analyses on blood, urine, and other specimens, adheres to approved procedures, and meets published turn-around times using a variety of instruments.

This position requires a NYS Licensed Clinical Laboratory Technologist with at least four years of experience, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to coordinate testing workflows

Formación

• Minimum 4 years’ experience as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist, Medical Laboratory Scientist, or Medical Technologist
• NYS Licensed Clinical Laboratory Technologist

Responsabilidades

• Correctly performs testing in an accurate and timely manner.
• Interprets and correlates test results with patient history and diagnosis, explaining normal vs abnormal results to clinicians.
• Communicates stat and critical lab results and instrument issues to physicians and nursing units.
• Maintains QC, routine and advanced maintenance and troubleshooting of analyzers and instruments.
• Prepares reagents and manages inventory with cost containment in mind.
• Coordinates with the Laboratory Information System and reports for workflow management.
• Participates in regulatory readiness and competency assessments for staff.
• Provides training to staff on procedures and instrumentation as needed.
