Job summary

White-Wilson Medical Center in Fort Walton Beach, FL seeks a Generalist Medical Technologist to perform and report the full range of moderate and high complexity lab tests across chemistry, hematology, and more. You will support method verification, quality management, and train technician staff on established procedures.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in MLS/CLST, MLS(ASCP) or MT(ASCP), Florida technologist licensure, and CLIA high complexity qualifications. Two years’ experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in medical laboratory science, clinical laboratory science, medical technology, or related science meeting FL licensure requirements.
• Current MLS(ASCP) or MT(ASCP) or equivalent technologist certification.
• Current Florida licensure at the technologist level (Generalist allowed).
• Meets CLIA high complexity testing personnel qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Perform and report moderate/high complexity testing across chemistry, hematology, coagulation, urinalysis, toxicology, molecular tech.
• Review QC data, evaluate shifts/trends, initiate corrective action.
• Verify lots/reagents and validate new/modified methods.
• Participate in instrument calibration, verification, and maintenance.
• Enter/release results in LIS and report critical values as policy.
• Perform and evaluate proficiency testing and assist in reviews.
• Provide training and competency assessments for staff.
• Contribute to SOP development and review.
• Follow safety, infection control, and specimen handling procedures.
