White-Wilson Medical Center, P.A. is seeking a Molecular Technologist to perform and report molecular diagnostic testing in the clinical laboratory in Fort Walton Beach, FL.

You will handle nucleic acid extraction, PCR-based assays, and result interpretation under general supervision. The role requires Bachelor's degree in MLS or related field, current molecular certification, and Florida licensure eligibility, with compliance to CLIA high-complexity standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in MLS, molecular biology, or related field.
• Current molecular certification (MB(ASCP), SMB(ASCP) or ABB).
• Florida licensure in Molecular Pathology or eligibility with licensure within 90 days.
• Meets CLIA high complexity testing personnel qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Perform molecular assays from start to finish including accessioning and interpretation.
• Set up PCR plates, verify controls, and maintain traceability from specimen to well.
• Maintain unidirectional workflow and contamination control measures.
• Run quality control, calibration, and instrument maintenance; take corrective actions as needed.
• Assist in method validation and verification for new assays.
• Enter and release results in LIS and communicate critical results per policy.
• Handle proficiency testing samples in accordance with procedures.
• Troubleshoot instruments, reagents, and assays with escalation when needed.
• Maintain records, inventory, and lot-to-lot verification.
