Job summary

White-Wilson Medical Center, Fort Walton Beach, FL, seeks a Molecular Technologist to perform and report molecular diagnostic testing in the clinical laboratory. Responsibilities include nucleic acid extraction, PCR-based assays, result interpretation, and quality control under supervision.

Required are a Bachelor's degree in medical laboratory science or related field, current molecular certification (MB(ASCP)/SMB(ASCP)/ABB), and Florida licensure or eligibility, with CLIA high-complexity

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in medical laboratory science or related field from an accredited institution.
• Current molecular certification (MB(ASCP), SMB(ASCP), or ABB) and Florida licensure in Molecular Pathology (or eligible).
• CLIA high-complexity testing personnel qualifications per 42 CFR 493.1489 and Florida licensure active within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Perform molecular assays from start to finish including accessioning, nucleic acid isolation, amplification (PCR/qPCR/RT-PCR), detection, and result interpretation.
• Set up and verify PCR plate maps, controls, and run worklists with traceability from specimen to well.
• Maintain unidirectional workflow and proper contamination control across preparation, amplification, and detection areas.
• Conduct quality control, calibration, instrument maintenance, and document actions when performance falls outside limits.
• Participate in method validation/verification for new or modified assays.
