Job summary

UW Health is seeking a Senior Medical Technologist - Chemistry in Madison to perform routine to complex laboratory testing and provide technical leadership for designated systems. You will oversee maintenance, calibration, inventory, training, and competency assessment while contributing to patient care.

Candidates should have an MLS/CLS background with relevant clinical laboratory experience and the ability to work 90% FTE with day shifts, plus occasional evenings and weekend rotations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science, or medical technology is required.
• Degree must include at least 60 semester hours with 24 hours of medical laboratory technology courses or a combination of chemistry/biology coursework totaling 24 hours.
• CLS or MLS degree is preferred.
• 2 years of clinical laboratory experience required; 3 years preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine to complex lab testing using specialized knowledge.
• Provide technical leadership for designated systems.
• Oversee all operational aspects for designated systems including maintenance, calibration, performance, inventory, training and competency assessment.

Education

Bachelor's Degree in chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science or medical technology

60 semester hours including 24 hours of MLT or 24 hours in chemistry/biology mix

Bachelor's Degree in Clinical Laboratory Science (CLS) Preferred

Master's Degree in Clinical Laboratory Science (MLS) or related field Preferred
