Job summary

Sumitomo Pharma America is seeking an Associate Director of Medical Strategy (Prostate Cancer) to lead medical and scientific strategy for internal programs and external stakeholder engagements.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, contribute to publications, congress activities, and advisory boards, and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations in a fast-paced environment. The role is primarily remote with periodic on-site meetings in the U.S.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in a scientific or healthcare-related field required; PharmD, PhD, MD, DO, or equivalent strongly preferred.
• Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in pharma, biotech, or life sciences.
• Oncology-focused Medical Affairs experience preferred.
• Experience supporting strategy, communications, publication planning, evidence generation, or field medical collaboration.
• Experience with cross-functional teams in a regulated environment.

Responsibilities

• Serve as medical director for assigned prostate cancer projects, providing medical leadership.
• Develop Medical Affairs strategic plans aligned with brand imperatives and external insights.
• Coordinate with alliance partners to align activities.
• Provide medical input into plans and platforms for external communications.
• Partner with US Field Medical, Medical Communications, and HEOR teams to ensure alignment.
• Support education channels: publications, congresses, advisory boards, symposia.
• Develop detailed scientific publication plans and engage KOLs as appropriate.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to inform internal strategies.
