Sumitomo Pharma America, Inc. seeks an Associate Director, Medical Strategy (Prostate Cancer) to lead medical strategy and scientific leadership for prostate cancer programs.

You will drive external engagement, plan publications, and coordinate with cross-functional teams to execute medical affairs strategies across internal programs and external interactions. The role requires an advanced degree and 8+ years in pharma/biotech or life sciences, with oncology experience strongly preferred.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in a scientific or healthcare-related field required; PharmD, PhD, MD, DO, or equivalent strongly preferred.
• Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in pharma/biotech/healthcare or life sciences.
• Medical Affairs experience required; oncology experience strongly preferred.
• Experience supporting medical strategy, scientific communications, publication planning, evidence generation, or field medical collaboration preferred.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams and external scientific experts in a compliant, highly regulated environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serves as medical director for assigned prostate cancer projects, providing medical and scientific leadership.
• Collaborates to develop Medical Affairs strategic plans aligned with brand goals and external insights.
• Supports coordination with external alliance partners for prostate cancer projects.
• Provides medical input into plan development and scientific platforms.
• Partners with US Field Medical, Medical Communications & Operations, RWE & HEOR, and ex-US colleagues for cross-functional alignment.
• Supports multimodal medical education channels (publications, presentations, congresses, advisory boards).
• Contributes to detailed scientific publication plans.
• Engages with scientific leaders and external experts for project needs.
• Works with internal stakeholders to bring medical perspectives to strategies.
• May support R&D input for assigned projects.
