Job summary

Sumitomo Pharma America, Inc. is seeking an Associate Director, Medical Strategy (Prostate Cancer) to lead medical strategy and scientific leadership for internal programs and external engagements. Qualifications

• Advanced degree in a scientific or healthcare-related field required; PharmD, PhD, MD, DO, or equivalent strongly preferred.
• Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in pharma/biotech/healthcare or related life sciences industry.
• Medical Affairs experience required; oncology experience strongly preferred.
• Experience supporting medical strategy, scientific communications, publication planning, evidence generation, or field medical collaboration preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serves as the medical director for assigned prostate cancer projects, providing medical and scientific leadership in collaboration with senior Medical Affairs leadership.
• Collaborates to develop Medical Affairs strategic plans aligned with brand imperatives and informed by external engagement and insights.
• Supports coordination with external alliance partners and cross-functional teams to ensure medical alignment and execution.
• Provides input into development and execution of Medical Affairs plans and scientific platforms.
• Partners with U.S. Field Medical, Medical Communications & Operations, RWE & HEOR, and ex-U.S. colleagues to support cross-functional medical alignment.
• Supports multimodal medical education channels (publications, presentations, congresses, advisory boards, educational activities).
• Contributes to the development and implementation of scientific publication plans.
• Engages with scientific KOLs and external experts to advance assigned projects.
• Works with internal stakeholders to bring medical perspectives to internal strategies and tactics.
• May support R&D ongoing activities and provide medical input to post-development projects.
