Qualifications

• MD, PhD, PharmD, DNP, or equivalent advanced degree preferred.
• 5+ years of Medical Science Liaison or related field-based Medical Affairs experience.
• Rare disease experience required, lysosomal/metabolic/rare neurological disorders preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to establish credibility and develop strategic, long-term relationships with KOLs, HCPs, researchers, and other scientific stakeholders.
• Strong scientific communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex data clearly.
• Strong business acumen and understanding of regulatory/compliance requirements for field activities.
• Ability to travel 60–75% and reside within the assigned territory.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a trusted scientific and clinical resource to KOLs, HCPs, researchers, and other healthcare stakeholders across the Southern U.S. territory.
• Provide scientific and strategic leadership within the field Medical Affairs organization, sharing best practices and contributing to the strategy.
• Develop and maintain strategic, long-term relationships with external experts and institutions to support meaningful scientific exchange.
• Conduct peer-to-peer scientific discussions and provide accurate, balanced, evidence-based medical information.
• Maintain comprehensive knowledge of disease states, treatment landscapes, clinical data, and competitor activity.
• Identify and communicate meaningful medical insights from the field to inform medical strategies.
• Document HCP interactions accurately within Veeva CRM and support projects aligned with US strategy.
• Represent Zevra at scientific congresses, advisory boards, and other external engagements.
