Job summary

Advocate Health is recruiting a staff Medical Physicist to support clinical services at our Northern Area radiation therapy clinics in Cabarrus, Stanly and University City. Join a team of physicists, dosimetrists and physicians delivering external beam therapies with advanced systems and AI contouring tools.

The role requires a Master’s in Medical Physics, ABMP/ABR/CCPM certifications and typically 3 years of related experience in oncology medical physics.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Medical Physics or related field.
• Typically requires 3 years of experience in a Medical Physicist Oncology position.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with physicians, staff and patients.

Responsibilities

• Performs delivery of non-standard, standard and complicated treatment planning and techniques including HDR, LDR and SRS.
• Calibrates therapy machines, conducts QA, and troubleshoots equipment with engineers.
• Writes specifications, commissioning, and acceptance testing for therapies and equipment.
• Collaborates with senior staff to develop QA programs and radiation safety policies.
• Tracks data affecting patient dose and validates dose calculation algorithms.
