In this role you will assess medical professional liability risks, determine pricing and terms, and ensure compliant documentation while collaborating with cross-functional teams. Travel within the territory may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• 3+ years of underwriting experience, including middle market or large risks.
• Experience underwriting medical malpractice or casualty is helpful.
• Proven ability to build and manage relationships with internal and external customers.
• Self-motivated, able to work independently under tight deadlines.
• Thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with accountability.

Responsibilities

• Territory management: develop and execute a strategic plan to grow and retain clients.
• Underwriting and risk assessment: evaluate medical professional liability risks and analyze submissions.
• Pricing and terms: determine pricing and terms based on risk and market conditions.
• Policy documentation: prepare and review policy documents and endorsements for accuracy.
• Travel: occasional travel within the territory for broker and client meetings.
• Cross-selling: pursue opportunities to cross-sell products to existing clients.
• Broker and client management: serve as main contact, negotiate terms, resolve issues.
• Market knowledge: monitor industry trends and regulatory changes.
• Collaboration: work with underwriting, claims, risk control, and sales teams.
• Compliance: ensure adherence to guidelines and regulatory requirements.
