Qualifications

• J.D. Degree
• 3–6 years medical malpractice litigation experience
• License to practice law in California

Responsibilities

• Formulating discovery and investigation strategy
• Obtaining concurrence with Claims Specialist on defense preparation
• Preparing pleadings
• Preparing and responding to discovery
• Attending court appearances
• Preparing lawsuits for trial/arbitration
• Preparing motions as requested
• Share knowledge with all attorneys
• Ensure cost effective work-up and overall defense of assignments
• Respond to hotline inquiries from the Claims Department
• Assist trial/lead attorneys with preparation of reports to Claims at all stages of litigation
