Job summary

Valley Hospital Medical Center in Las Vegas, NV seeks a Medical Technologist to analyze laboratory specimens and report results according to protocol. The role serves as a resource for Laboratory Technicians and Assistants and supports the Lead Medical Technologist.

NV licensure required/maintained; ASCP or equivalent; new graduates must obtain NV provisional license before hire and permanent license on expiration; three years experience preferred; strong bench skills and patient-focused care.

Qualifications

• BSMT(ASCP) or equivalent as defined by CLIA’88.
• Three (3) years of as Medical Technologist is preferred.
• Nevada State Licensure as Clinical Laboratory Technologist; ASCP or equivalent board registration/education required to satisfy Nevada License requirements must be maintained.
• New CLS graduates must receive certification within 6 months of hire.
• New graduates or applicants that do not currently have a NV license, must obtain a NV state provisional license prior to hire and must obtain a permanent license upon expiration of the provisional license.
• Must possess appropriate people skills, organization and attention to detail; act as a resource for staff as required.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the analysis of laboratory specimens and reporting results according to protocol.
• Acts as a resource for Medical Laboratory Technicians and Lab Assistants.
• Supports and assists Lead Medical Technologist.
