Job summary

Qualifications
- US citizenship required unless a waiver applies per VA policy
- Educational requirements for certification must be met
- Must hold one of the listed MLT certifications (ASCP, AMT, or AAB)
- Minimum one year of experience at GS-06 level or equivalent
- Demonstrated KSAs: lab concepts, safety, IT systems, quality management, and problem solving
Responsibilities
- Perform advanced laboratory tests across multiple disciplines (microbiology, chemistry, hematology, immunohematology, serology, urinalysis)
- Operate and troubleshoot laboratory instruments
- Process samples and report results
- Coordinate with clinical departments for order entry and accessioning
- Maintain quality control and document corrective actions
- Train new staff and support continuing education programs
