Job summary

Actalent in Nashville, TN is seeking a Medical Lab Scientist III for a night-shift contract position. The role involves verifying specimens, performing routine and complex lab procedures, and maintaining instruments to ensure accurate results for patient care.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 5–7 years of clinical lab experience, with LIS proficiency and strong communication skills. On-site work with comprehensive safety protocols and PPE is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent completion of CLIA/state requirements.
• 5–7 years of clinical lab testing experience.
• State MT license if required by local regulations.
• ASCP or AMT certification when required or preferred.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Determine specimen acceptability according to procedures.
• Perform routine and complex lab procedures per SOPs.
• Operate and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation to minimize downtime.
• Report results accurately and timely for patient care.
• Prepare, test, and evaluate reagents or controls for accuracy.
