Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking an entry-level Medical Laboratory Technician to join the clinical team. This role performs tests, confirms accuracy of results, and reports laboratory findings to pathologists and clinicians.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree in Biological Science and meets CLIA requirements to perform high complexity testing. ASCP generalist or categorical certification is preferred within two years of hire, with opportunity for promotion after certification.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Biological Science required.
• Must meet CLIA requirements to perform high complexity testing, college transcripts may be requested.
• License/Registration/Certification: Not required but ASCP certified generalist or categorical Technologist or equivalent accreditation preferred within 2 years of hire. Once certified, promoted to Medical Laboratory Scientist 2.
• Preferred Qualifications: Successful completion of a clinical laboratory medicine rotation, clinical practicum, or equivalent clinical laboratory experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs tests, confirms accuracy of results and reports laboratory findings to the Pathologists and other Clinicians.
