Job summary

Blue Shield of CA seeks a Senior Medical Informatics Analyst to deliver data-driven insights, analytical reports, and dashboards that empower decision-making across Appeals & Grievances and other teams.

You will collaborate with business leaders to develop solutions, improve performance, and support core objectives through advanced analytics, forecasting, and ML/NLP capabilities whenever applicable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent and 4 years of relevant experience.
• 5 years of prior relevant experience; healthcare and appeals experience a plus.
• Strong Python or equivalent programming experience.
• Advanced SQL with complex joins, subqueries, CTEs, and window functions.
• Experience with Power BI and Tableau; cloud analytics tools like Snowflake or Databricks.
• Experience in statistical analytics, modeling/forecasting, machine learning, NLP is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop data-driven insights, operational reports, and analytical solutions.
• Create dashboards to enable informed decision-making and performance improvements.
• Collaborate with business leaders and analysts across Appeals & Grievances and other areas.
• Support key business objectives through analytics and self-service tools.
