Job summary

The Blue Shield of CA Health Plan Operations Analytics and Reporting team delivers trusted analytics, operational reporting, and self-service dashboards that empower business partners to make informed decisions, optimize performance, reduce costs, identify growth opportunities, and improve the experience of members, providers, and brokers.

The Senior Medical Informatics Analyst will report to the Senior Medical Informatics Manager.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or HS diploma with 4 years of additional relevant experience
• 5 years of prior relevant experience in healthcare analytics, appeals and grievances a plus
• Proficiency in Python and SQL is strongly desired
• Advanced SQL with joins, subqueries, CTEs and window functions
• Experience with Power BI and Tableau for data visualization
• Experience with cloud analytics tools like Snowflake or Databricks
• Statistical analytics, modeling/forecasting, ML and NLP a plus

• Develop data-driven insights, operational reports, and dashboards
• Create self-service analytics solutions to enable informed decision-making
• Collaborate with business leaders across Appeals & Grievances and other areas to improve performance
