Qualifikationen

• Knowledge of technical aspects of radiation oncology and medical physics sufficient to derive computerized treatment plans and collaborate with physicians and therapists.
• Working knowledge of radiation safety and current regulations.
• Ability to work effectively as a team member to provide accurate radiation therapy services.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage time and prioritize workflow.
• Familiarity with Electronic Medical Records and TPS (Aria, Eclipse) is preferred.

Aufgaben

• Collaborate with Medical Physics to oversee dosimetry clinical operations.
• Provide leadership, mentorship and guidance to the dosimetry staff.
• Monitor treatment planning tasks and workflows to ensure timely completion and on-schedule patient treatment starts.
• Participate in departmental quality improvement initiatives.
• Design treatment plans by computer or manual calculation to deliver prescribed dose and field placement.
• Consider dose-limiting structures in plan design and document dose per prescription.
• Assist in treatment simulations and tumor localization on dedicated devices.
• Plan and assist in fabrication of compensators, shields, wedges, and other beam devices.
• Assist in planning production of molds and immobilization devices.
• Coordinate with therapist staff implementing plans including immobilization devices and field arrangement.
• Perform calculations for accurate delivery of prescribed dose and verify calculations with Medical Physicist.
• Support Medical Physicist in radiation protection and quality assurance.
• Assist in application of dosimetry methods (ion chamber, TLD, film).
• Assist in brachytherapy procedures and related dose distributions.
• Teach medical dosimetry concepts to students and residents; participate in continuing education.
