Job summary

Tempus is seeking a Senior Medical Director in Oncology to serve as the clinical partner for Life Sciences accounts, bridging clinical oncology practice with real-world data and biopharma drug development.

The ideal candidate has MD/DO board certification in Medical Oncology and expertise in GI or Breast cancers, with a proven ability to translate complex oncologic concepts into actionable data and AI-driven solutions for client teams.

Qualifications

• MD or DO required with board certification/eligibility in Medical Oncology.
• Subspecialty focus in GI or Breast cancers preferred.
• Proven ability to analyze biopharma pipelines, regulatory pathways, and real-world data.

Responsibilities

• Build and execute holistic, long-term clinical strategies for assigned accounts leveraging Tempus capabilities (RWD, AI tools, and trial acceleration).
• Serve as the primary clinical peer to biopharma Clinical Directors and Translational Medicine executives, maintaining proactive engagement.
• Develop indication-specific decks mapping real-world standards of care and biomarker testing patterns against client assets.
• Analyze client pipelines, trial readouts, and investor materials to anticipate needs and plan growth.
• Synthesize conference updates (ASCO, ESMO, SABCS) into actionable client insights for trial design and cohort selection.
• Collaborate with internal teams on high-value client calls to communicate complex scientific solutions with credibility.
• Act as SME across Tempus products to ensure scientific accuracy and align capabilities with market needs.
