Tempus AI in Illinois is seeking a Medical Director to lead the Tempus+ program within the Medical team. You will drive research strategy, evidence generation, adoption, and education across participating institutions.

You will cultivate relationships with academic and community physicians, guide clinical investigations, and scale research output by partnering with internal teams to transform real-world data into actionable medical insights for oncology care.

Qualifications

• MD/DO or MD/DO/PhD with oncology clinical expertise required
• Experience leading multi-site observational studies and precision medicine initiatives
• Strong collaboration with academic health systems and hospitals to advance research

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary medical point of contact for Tempus+ institutions
• Foster collaboration through joint working groups
• Travel up to 20% for on-site support and relationship management
• Support researchers from hypothesis generation to study proposals
• Provide scientific and technical support to explore the Lens platform
• Develop publication strategies for high-impact journals
• Shape clinically sound and oncology-aligned investigation plans
• Advise internal teams on data interpretation and clinical context
• Engage Tempus+ sites with Lens, tumor boards, and trials
• Deliver polished, clinically oriented presentations to medical audiences
