The Senior Medical Director provides strategic and hands-on medical leadership across AstraZeneca's US inhaled respiratory portfolio. The role leads healthcare strategy, data creation, scientific dissemination, and external engagement.

As a member of the Core Medical Team, this individual serves as the Voice of Medical, influences across US, Global, and R&D partners, and directly owns selected tactical results.

Qualifications

• MD, DO, PharmD, or PhD with relevant clinical and pharma industry experience.
• Minimum 5 years in clinical, scientific, healthcare, and pharmaceutical industry, including Medical Affairs.
• Proven ability to lead US medical strategy and external scientific engagement in a complex matrix organization.

Responsabilités

• Lead development and execution of US medical strategy and annual medical plans across the inhaled respiratory portfolio.
• Serve as the Voice of Medical in Core Medical Teams and cross-functional forums, providing clear scientific leadership and influencing portfolio, brand, launch, and investment decisions.
• Establish US evidence priorities and coordinate integrated plans spanning clinical analyses and health outcomes research.
• Lead scientific narrative development and ensure evidence is translated into accurate, balanced communications.
• Provide strategic oversight of publication and congress plans, scientific platforms, and medical education.
• Build trusted relationships with external experts, professional societies, health systems, and strategic partners.
• Partner with Field Medical Affairs to set and measure key performance indicators.
• Lead or supervise implementation science and healthcare-system initiatives addressing guideline-directed care barriers.
• Partner with Clinical Development, Global Medical, and Regulatory as needed.
• Mentor Medical Directors and matrix team members to ensure high-quality execution.
• Ensure all activities meet AstraZeneca policies and regulatory standards.
